Connectivity Takes Centre Stage on TUI Cruises’ Newest Vessel

TUI Cruises has selected Marlink to provide the digital backbone for Mein Schiff Flow, the latest vessel joining its fleet and the second ship in the company’s new InTUItion-class series. The vessel, scheduled to be christened in Trieste, Italy, on 20 June 2026, will enter service equipped with a fully managed hybrid communications platform designed to support both guest connectivity and operational requirements onboard. As part of the launch celebrations, TUI Cruises plans to livestream the christening ceremony using Starlink technology, allowing viewers around the world to follow the event in real time.

Built for a Connected Cruise Experience

Designed to accommodate more than 3,900 passengers and approximately 1,500 crew members, Mein Schiff Flow represents a new generation of cruise ships where digital connectivity is integrated into the overall guest experience.

The vessel’s communications architecture combines multiple satellite technologies, including low-earth orbit (LEO) connectivity through Starlink, traditional geostationary (GEO) VSAT services, and mobile satellite services (MSS) as backup. These systems are managed through Marlink’s network platform, which automatically optimizes traffic and connectivity performance.

The objective is simple: maintain reliable internet access and operational communications regardless of where the ship is sailing.
